GK Update 1 May 2015

1. Maharastra Food and Drugs Association has ordered filing of FIR against Snapdeal co founders and board of directors for allegedly selling medicine online. However Snapdeal has told that they had removed the listing of medicines.
2. Canara Bank has tied up with the Life Corporation of India(LIC) for providing Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. All account holders between age 18-50 years will get an insurance cover of 2 lakh rupees.
3. Automakers Maruti, Hyundai, Honda posts strong growth during the month of April this year while General Motors has slipped.
4. Axis Bank has opened its first express branch to provide convenient banking facilities to its customers.It is digitally connected and open 24/7. The bank aims to open it more in the metro cities.

5. Papua New Guinea and Andaman Islands have felt earthquake of magnitude 6.8 and 5.4 respectively. However no tsunami warning have been sent till now.
6. Bajaj RE60 has been delayed and the Chakan based maker may launch it abroad as it is still awaiting to get government notification.
