1. AIADMK cheif Jayalalitha has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the fifth consecutive time. She has come to power after nearly eight months after she was forced to quit for the corruption charges.
2. The selection committees today met to decide on the appointments for the Chiefs of Central Information Commission and Central Vigilance Commission. The committees however could not come to a decision.
3. SAIL and Arcelor Mittal signed a MoU to set up a new steel plant in India for the automotive sector.
4. IBM is planning to set up its second data centre in India to cater demands from various sectors. This would be the second centre after Mumbai.
