GK Update 5 May 2015

1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going for a three nation visit to China, Mongolia and South Korea from May 14. He will hold bilateral meeting and attend some business and cultural events. He will visit Mongolia on May 17 by which he will become the first Indian prime minister to visit the nation. He will visit South Korea on May 18.
2. Cabinet today approved the 119th Constitutional Amendment Bill on Land Boundary Agreement between India and Bangladesh. According to the Bill, both the countries will exchange several enclaves which are under each others possession.
3. The Competition Commission has rejected all the allegations against all the major online retailers for unfair business practices. The five online retailer were Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon, Myntra and Jabong.
4. PayTM wallet will now be accepted in quick service restaurants including Domino's and CCD as the Alibaba backed online platform is planning to foray into the offline retail in two months.
5. Today the world is observing the World Asthma Day. It is celebrated in the first Tuesday of every May. This year the theme is 'You Can Control Your Asthma'.
6. Microsoft India has unveiled a cloud based computing for learning in schools and higher educational institutions named Edu-Cloud for making learning more fun.
7. Japanese Automaker Nissan has appointed Sandip Neogi as the Chief Financial Officer  for its India operations.
8. English cricketer Jonathhan Trott has announced retirement from international cricket after a disappointing tour of West Indies. He has played 52 tests scoring 3,835 runs at an average of 44.08.Trott played in three Ashes triumphs and was named the international cricketer of year in 2011.He also played 68 one-day internationals, scoring 2,819 runs at an average of 51.25.
9. Intex has launched Aqua Star II HD smartphone at 6590INR and Panasonic launched its first 4G 64 bit smartphone Eluga L 4G at 12990 INR.
