GK Update 7 May 2015

1. The Lok Sabha today passed the the Juvenile Justice(Care and Protection of Children) Bill,2014 which permits that the juvenile between age of 16 and 18 years are to be treated as adults but the it is the duty of the juvenile justice board to decide whether the crime was done in which nature of mind.
2. Parliament today gave its approval for the 100th Amendment Constitution Bill to settle the boundary dispute between India and Bangladesh.
3. Kerala Police today has started the inquiry into the suicide attempt by four athletes at SAI training centre. Four athletes consumed poisonous fruit yesterday due to which one of them has died and other have been hospitalized.
4. Votiing for general elections is continuing in UK across 50000 polling stations fighting for more than 9000 council seats across 279 local authorities.
5. Securities Exchange Board of India has barred four companies from raising money to protect immobilization of funds. The companies which are barred are Bishal Horticulture & Animal Projects, Bishal Distillers, Bishal Agri-Bio Industries and Bishal Abasan India.
6. India ranks 142nd in the Forbes2000 powerful companies with 56 companies which is lead by Reliance Industries.
7. Gujarat High Court has ordered shutting down of 67 sand mines in Gir Forest.
8. Sunil Narine has been given final warning for bowling in the IPL for his suspect action.
9. Geeta Phogat won a bronze medal in the Women's Freestyle 58kg category in the Senior Asian Wrestling championship in Doha.
